Is it Time to Replace Your Heat and Air Unit?
Have you noticed that your home is staying hotter or cooler than you really want? Is it hard to control the temperature of your home regularly? This is a common problem when it is time to replace your heat and air unit. It is common to have to run a unit constantly when the unit is going bad.
There are certain things that you should look for when you are deciding on whether you need a new unit or just a few repairs. Many times you may just need to have your unit cleaned and flushed out. If you air ducts are clogged with dust and residue it can really hinder the amount of air traveling through your system.
When it was time to replace my unit at home, I noticed that our home would only stay about 20 degrees cooler inside than outside during the summer. On days when it is 100 degrees outside, this can make it really uncomfortable inside. This is a common sign for older units that need to be replaced. If you unit is older than 15 years it may be time to consider replacing the entire thing. If you do not, you may spend hundreds on repairs, and in the end you still have to replace the unit.
It is important that you make sure to do regular monitoring of your unit. You do not want to put your family at risk for possible dangers such as carbon monoxide poisoning. The older a unit gets the more likely it is for this to occur. Regular maintenance is a good way of preventing possible dangers.
