Metal Roofs

Metal roofs have long been a great choice in commercial and residential roofing. Metal roofs add an incredible value as well as a quality option for fire protection. Metallic roof values come from their life expectancy. Generally a metal roof can last 30-40 years. And in that time they require very little maintenance, and consistently show a beautiful look. These roofs are also very valuable if you live a fire danger area. When fire strikes in a forested, fire setting, most homes are consumed by floating embers. It’s these embers that settle on wood shake roofs that cause such a huge fire danger. Metal roofs protect homes at a much higher rate. These roofs ultimately save property, lives and trees. Wood shake roofs require the consumption of valuable trees for their production.

Galvanized steel

Galvanized steel roofs are ideal for their strength, life expectancy, and outdoor corrosion resistance. Steel roofing also give a broader range of applications. Steel roofs pass the UL90 wind testing as a result of their strength and weight. These roofs offer excellent rust protection as well. Galvanized steel roofs come painted, aggregate-coated, or with mill or bare finish.

Aluminum

Aluminum is a great choice for any roof where steel or other materials are being considered. Its light weight, strength and longevity make it a desirable roofing material. It’s these qualities that make aluminum the number one metal of the aerospace industry. Aluminum roofs are lightweight so consumers can re-roof their home which reduces the weight on their house structure. Of course the other important factor to consider is an aluminum roof’s resistance to rust and corrosion. These characteristics make aluminum roofing a preferred material in salt spray coast environments.
